Genre Favorites Blogfest

It's time for Alex J. Cavanaugh's Genre Favorites Blogfest! According to our awesome ninja captain, we're supposed to talk about our favorite genres of music, books, movies, and our guilty pleasure from one of the categories.

Music
A few of my favorites that are on my Kindle Fire.
My favorite genre is pop music, i.e. whatever is playing on the radio. My favorite radio station in the area is K92.3 FM. They're awesome!

Books
Just a few of my mystery books.
I love mysteries and thrillers. I want to try to figure out what's going on. Who did the crime? They're so much fun.

Movies
A sample of my horror movie collection.
I love horror movies. The thrill of the scare and then the laughter afterwards.

My Guilty Pleasure
And yes, I like the books the musicals are made from. The cat pillow case is my cat Cinderella's.
Showtunes! That's right. When the house is empty, I can be found belting out songs from Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, and many more!

So what are your favorite genres?

Wow, I would never, ever have guessed you'd be into showtunes! I like them a lot too! :D

Need to sneak over to your house and hear you sing!
Second woman to pick horror today - very cool.
Thanks for participating in my blogfest!

Have to say the 'showtunes' surprised me too!

LOL I belt out Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables when hubby's home -- the house doesn't have to be empty! :)

I'm too much of a chicken for the horror flicks, but I am a HUGE show tune/musical kinda girl.

Marta Szemik said...

Ohh, I have to take out my Phantom of the Opera CDs now. Haven't listened to them in years!

I would not have guessed show tunes. :)

"The cat pillow case is my cat Cinderella's." sure it is... (;

Funny, I just had a conversation with Mark Koopmans about SK's book It. Used to read a lot of his stuff as a teenager but now, I can't do horror anymore and clowns freak me out. BUT, saw Cats when they preformed in DC years ago with my mom. It was amazing and I still have their T-shirt!

Love your Kindle Fire cover!

I think that is so cool how you took actual pictures of your faves. I'm a big pop music fan too...which could be considered a guilty pleasure as well.

I am not a horror fan in the least. If I make it through a horror movie, it's only because my hands were covering my eyes most of the time. =)

And oh yeah, I forgot to say that I LOVE SHOWTUNES. I sing them all the time, much to the delight of my neighbors.

A few bloggers have listed show tunes or musicals as their guilty pleasure. I've got so many songs playing in my head right now!

In the eighties, I read the Rabbi mystery series.

Like 'Friday the Rabbi Slept Late' by Harry Kemelman.

A great series.

Wow, I'd have thought you'd have chosen Fantasy or Sci Fi, since I think of your Gravity series and others, but Mysteries are very cool!

And I was pretty close to you in Guilty Pleasures -- I picked All that Jazz as my guilty pleasure movie, and that's ALL about the show. ;^)

Fun post!

I'm assuming the DEXTER books are great, and I love the TV show. They are on my Amazon Wish List but I just haven't received them...yet.

Ooooh I remember you corrected the spelling of "Glinda" in my book. Now I know why! You love "Wicked!"

Emily R. King said...

I really need to see Wicked. I heard it's fabulous.

Sheena-kay Graham said...

Ha! I love your guilty pleasure.

Nicole said...

Showtunes are a fantastic guilty pleasure! I've sung along to Wicked a little too loudly far too many times. ;)

Allison said...

Oh, I can't watch horror movies. I just don't like being scared for fun!

Great choices! I love certain musicals. I use to turn up the music so loud I couldn't hear myself and sing. I adore the Phantom. The Phantom sings my name, after all! :)

Shannon Lawrence said...

I love show tunes, too! And musicals, whether movie or stage. I'm also a fan of horror, both in books and movies. Nice book selection!

Good choice on the horror! I'm a fan of (most) musicals but I've not read any of their novelisations.

Horror is too scary! Great list!

I love the rollercoaster type horrors rather than the gory ones. It's the scare factor which is awesome.

I'm too much of a scaredy-cat to watch horror, but I love your guilty pleasure. West Side Story is one of my all time favorite movies, and Phantom of the Opera is one of my favorite Broadway shows.

Such a fun blogfest today.

I'm #173.

I like show tunes. Some of the best songs came from Broadway shows.

Sounds like you have a pampered feline. I like cats, too.
