Wednesday's Writing Update: August Stats, September Goals, and a Blogger Award

Happy Wednesday!

August is finished and we're almost a full week into September. It's hard to believe this time next month I'll be in Richmond, VA for the James River Writers Conference.

So, on to August stats:

Submissions: 0

Acceptances: 0

Total Words: 15,115

Pages Edited: 601

I don't have many submissions out there, but I'm considering taking some of my shorter works and self-publishing them. In fact, I would like to write two and a half more short stories in my Foxwick land and created a small short story collection titled The Foxwick Chronicles: Women of Foxwick. So you might see this collection in December, if I can get everything together.

As for my novel Virtuoso, things aren't looking too good for it. There are major issues and I'm running out of time and energy to fix them right now. So starting last Friday, I began working on The Phoenix Prophetess. I'm completely in love with it. I've read it two times already and have started edits. It may be against my original plans, but I stand by my decision.

Liar, Liar!

Yesterday, I received this award from the talented Nicole Zoltack of Where Fantasy and Love Take Flight.

For this award, I nominate 7 other bloggers, but I also have to tell you 7 things about myself. Either 6 outrageous truths and 1 outrageous lie or 1 outrageous truth and 6 outrageous lies. But I'm not going to tell you which, that's some of the fun of this award.

Now onto the statements!

1. At one time, I had over twenty cats.
2. I discovered an old boyfriend I was currently dating at the time was gay from a friend.
3. I've never had the leading female role in a play.
4. I've done this blog award before, and you can read that post here.
5. I've never been in an airplane, but I have flown in a helicopter before.
6. The last time I went on a date was over three years ago.
7. One time, I was inquiring about a patron goddess and requested a sign. I was outside at the time, and an owl flew above my head. So, for this reason, I consider Athena to be my patron goddess.

And now I'm supposed to pick seven new people for this award, but I hate to choose, so anyone who follows this blog and hasn't received this award before (or wants to do it again), they can have it.

Another Blog Award

The talented Nicole Zoltack gave me the Blogger BFF Award. I was surprised and honored to receive this award. I enjoy following Nicole's blog, and the background she has for it is just beautiful and I think very fitting for her and her writing.

There are wonderful bloggers out there, and I follow quite a few, but I enjoy catching up with old and new friends, who have great blogs that not only chronicle their writing but also give us a glimpse into their lives.
