Happy Wednesday! Wow, I can't believe this is the last IWSG post this year!

The past couple years my good friend Aubrie has sent me a calendar called The Art of Success. It has a pretty picture each month, but best of all, I love the monthly quotes. They've been a source of inspiration for me throughout the year, so I'd like share the quotes of 2014's The Art of Success calendar.

January
Insight
"Happiness is where we find it, but rarely where we seek it." - J. Petit Senn

February
Legacy
"A falling drop at last will carve a stone." - Lucretius

March
Success
"Success is a journey, not a destination." - Ben Sweetland

April
Preparation
"Don't ever take a fence down until you know why it was put up." - Robert Frost

May
Inspiration
"Shrouded in wonder, today we begin again, to discover our destiny." - Garth Catterhall Heart

June
Growth
"Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together." - Vincent Van Gogh

July
Courage
"The man of wisdom is never of two minds; the man of benevolence never worries; the man of courage is never afraid." Confucius

August
Compassion
"yet taught by time, my heart has learned to glow for other's good, and melt at other's woe." - Homer

September
Direction
"We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails." - Dolly Parton

October
Rejuvenate
"Take rest; a field that has rested gives a beautiful crop." - Anonymous

Great calendar. The March quote is exactly the reminder I need right now.

I like the April quote best. Sounds like a good idea for a short story.

September is my favorite. It's how I like to view life.

Sounds like it's been a great year. Best of luck on the pre-sale!

That's an awesome calendar. And I have to keep reminding myself of that last one. It is better to fall short of a high mark than to reach a low one. You always set the bar high for yourself. That's an inspiration to me! :)

I like the February and March quotes. Funny to think that enough water drops can carve up a stone, even if it takes millennia. Still, it works!

I did not expect to see a Dolly Parton quote in there, lol! What a neat gift from a friend. Words are powerful!

That calendar sure beats the learn-a-new-word-every-day one. We all can use as much inspiration as we can get. :)

I love this, Cherie. It's nice to be reminded of such inspiring words, especially words like "legacy." I loved the quote and I think it's desperately needed in this day and age. Instead of everyone having so much hatred and anger toward one another, we should all be leaving little drops of our legacy so we can make this world a better and more creative place.

Beautiful quotes! Much of my writing this year has been inspired by books I've read, conversations I've had, and blog posts I've read in which authors share their goals - like your posts! :)
