Wednesday's Writing Update: June Goals

Happy Wednesday!

May seemed to be a catch-up month for me. I was catching up on blog posts, emails, and more. Unfortunately, writing and editing didn't happen quite as well as I'd hoped and had me revising my production goals. Instead of working on The Loveless Princess, I'm now working on the short story collection Neighbors of Foxwick, which I hope to finish in June. As for The Loveless Princess, I hope to get back to it in August.

My June goals are as follows:
  • Finish outlining Reforged, Book Two of The Fate Challenges, so I'll be ready to write it for July's Camp NaNoWriMo (a 50,000 word goal, although it'd be awesome if I can write the complete first draft of Reforged).
  • Finish editing Part III of Reborn, Book One of The Fate Challenges, so I can send it to my first group of critique partners by June 30th.
  • Edit Part I of Reborn, Book One of The Fate Challenges, based on my first group of critique partners' edits.
  • Proofread/Format/Publish Men of Foxwick by June 17th. This fantasy short story collection should be out a few days before June 17th, but that date is the official release date.
  • Write the short stories in Neighbors of Foxwick.
What are your June goals?

I'm not even going to go with how many pages I've edited. LOL as a job- let's just say a lot.
I just finished a round of edits on Bloodstone (my wip)

Wow, 77k is a great start to the year! I love how you are constantly re-evaluating your goals and setting new ones. That's the way to do it!

That's a lot of words.
I'm still not caught up from April..

Outstanding goals set! I'm a flounderer, I work and procrastinate. I dislike setting goals because I drive myself crazy when I can't pull through. Since Jan. I have completed and edited 3 books, probably with more editing after my editor gets done with them, and waiting for publication. I guess that's not too bad. But now I'm putting an ending on the 4th, and its a slow go. I don't know if I like the ending or I just don't want it to end. Ever have that problem?

You always have such great goals. I'm just plodding along and taking a vacation in June. Looking forward to slowing down on my blog a bit and writing more.

You always have such great goals. I'll be on vacation in June so I'm hoping to get some writing done but slow down a bit too.

May has felt a bit like a catch-up month to me, too. It's inevitable to revise goals as a result! Anyway, good luck with all your June goals! I'm so impressed that you're brave enough to tackle so much at once...

My June goal is to simply catch up with my webcomic. I've been falling behind on my three-month buffer of comic strips!

I need to get some word count in on Beyond the Edge in a serious way. I think most of the stupid stuff is out of the way now. Hopefully I won't find more. :)

Food for thought!

1) I wanna put in three hours/day minimum and finish the draft of Arielle and Belle.

2) Turn off my internal editor, an absolute necessity if I'm to finish anything.

Excellent goals. I just want to finish THE GHOST in a reasonable amount of time. =P

You're phenomenal! You set the bar so high for yourself - and then you accomplish your goals.
What will I do for the summer? Try to survive the heat without melting into a big puddle of sweat. lol

It's so cool that you keep a running tally of your words written for the entire year. Good luck with getting your June goals achieved.

I just want to finish writing Act I of Rise of Iron by the end of June.

Good luck with your goals!

My goal for June is to pick up my latest book, which has been on hold while I made changes to a previous book. Only around 6,000 words in and hoping it'll be easy to slip back into it (please, please, please).

Goals? What are those? Oh yeah, those things that keep getting shot out of the water by LIFE. :) Good luck with you June Goals. I don't think there's much point in re-evaluating on mine. I finish my WIP one day, there you go that's the goal. :)

Those are some impressive goals, and I wish you every success with them. Mine are somewhat more modest:

- Prep for Camp NaNoWriMo in July
- Write two short stories
- Blog at least twice a week
- Start writing poetry again (April blew a lot of stuff out of the water!)

Great goals list! I'm gettin' back into the swing of things myself.

Well done even if you didn't quite get done all you hoped to achieve. I'm hoping to finish a revision of my WIP and find some alpha readers for my YA verse novel that I just finished revising
Happy June!
