H is for Have Unicorns, Even in Black!

This year's A to Z Challenge theme is: All About Foxwick.

H is for ... Have Unicorns, Even in Black

Like dragons, I wanted to go back to fantasy’s roots and have unicorns in my stories. The unicorns are typical unicorns, white horse-like animals with golden or silver horns coming out from their head. They prefer the innocent and women, although men are known to have seen them. They live in Greymist Forest and use the forest’s mists to keep hidden from human eyes.

There is one unusual unicorn, though. A black one has befriended Umbria, a princess of Foxwick and Lady Death. Umbria is the only one in known Foxwick history to ride a unicorn.

What do you think of unicorns?

For some reason, I always think of that early Tom Cruise movie when I think of unicorns. Was it Legend? Now, I'll have to look that up online.

As far as I'm concerned one can never have too many unicorns! Although I've never come across a black one.

I'd love to see a unicorn. I wish I were so privileged.

I want to be a magical unicorn in my next life! No, honestly, unicorns can be all that you want them to be.

Oh, a black unicorn? I always tend to picture them in white. I'll have to start thinking otherwise!

Did you know that North Korea released a news story that there's a cave in their country believed to be the home of an ancient unicorn? They did this to make a connection in the minds of the people that their ruler is sent from god and that they have a manifest destiny to rule the whole peninsula.

A black one is very cool. My favorite color! Is there a matching black dragon?

Unicorns are awesome! (My sister is an especially big fan of them.) I think it's so cool how you have some in Foxwick, including a black one! :)

They're dangerous! Don't trust them!

Unicorns never did much for me, but a pegasus - totally in my mythological wish list.

Since I will probably see a unicorn only in my imagination, I would make him shimmery white like mother-of-pearl with a golden horn. And blue eyes :)

I was always a unicorn fan when I was little and still am. A favorite book of mine is called "Black Unicorn" by Tanith Lee.

I have the Book of the Unicorn in my Grand Library. And Mother Dragon has a collection of unicorns in her treasure chamber. We don't hold grudges.

You picked my all time favorite mystical creature! I can only imagine how spectacular a black unicorn would be....

Why do the ladies have all the luck? Lol.

I love Unicorns. I used to collect them but we moved so many times that I lost a few of my statues and just have 9 of them left.
