Welcome to the “Cheers, Cavanaugh BlogFest.”
Hosted by Mark“The Madman” Koopman, ”Marvelous” MorganShamy, Stephen“Breakthrough” Tremp, and David “Kingpin”Powers King, the BlogFest runs from December 10 - 12.
While Alex is an awesome blogger, he’s also an enigma.
So, here’s my answers to the four questions:
In +/- 20 words, what does Alex look like? He's a shadowy man of mystery. He could be anyone, anytime, anywhere sneaking around and doing random acts of kindness.
In +/- 20 words, who could play Alex in a documentary? (Living or dead.) I don't have a name, but the person would rock the guitar and have super quick ninja skills.
In +/- 20 words, who does Alex remind you of? He reminds me of that guy in high school everyone thinks is cool but is also really nice to everyone.
In +/- 100 words, (excluding the title) write flash fiction using all these prompts: Cavanaugh Ninja IWSG Cosbolt Guitar

"Cavanaugh, what is that racket?"
"The guitar, sir."
"Writers are having insecurities on Scriptus. They need you."
"Yes, sir." Cavanaugh placed it in its case and headed to his Cosbolt.
Ready for the mission, his navigator asked.
You know it.
After a systems check, Cavanaugh flew to Scriptus.
Scriptus, home to writers, was in chaos. Writers tore their hair or scribbled on everything before ripping it to shreds.
"I'll never be published again!" One writer wept.
Like a ninja, Cavanaugh spread an acronym: IWSG. The writers gathered to tell their insecurities and joys.
Cavanaugh had saved the day.

Mrs. Cavanaugh, they say behind every good man is a great woman, so Alex must have one of the greatest women around. Thank you for sharing him with us.
And thank you, Alex, for doing all you do.

I love it! I can see him saving the day like that.
That's great! The Ninja Captain has saved the day once again.
Fantastic! Love the flash fiction piece!
The flash fiction is awesome, Cherie! Don't want any insecure writers on Scriptus.
Thank you so very much for the kind words. You rock!
Excellent flash fiction!
Sounds like the kind of planet I belong on..lol! Great FF :)
You write such awesome flash fiction pieces! Loved this. (:
Too funny!
Great flash fiction!
Heather
Ooh, I love the idea of Alex being a Guy Fawkes type -- he's all of us (which makes PERFECT sense when you think about it), yet none of us at all.
We are ALL Ninja Captain Alex, but none of us can truly BE him. :-D
Alex the writer's superhero! How many of us would be bald and story-less without the support of IWSG? :P
I need to take a trip to Scriptus myself. Get some writing mojo. Great job.
Oh the superhero motif with the IWSG and all. How fantastic. You should have him say, "No capes!"
You are so right about that cool guy who's also really nice in high school.
And lol, loved your flash fiction :)
That was a very nice flash story. :)
Nice description of Alex. I particularly loved your message to Mrs. Cavanaugh. :-)
A Ninja would perish before allowing his identity to be revealed! :)
Very nice!
I said the same thing. Alex definitely reminds me of that guy in school everyone loved. :)
A planet full of writers - love it!
Love the flash fiction!
I must be originally from Scriptus. Nice flash, there Cherie!
Nice tribute, Cherie, and congrats on the book. I've seen you everywhere!
"Scriptus" <----LOL! Too clever.
Loved it. :D
great flash fiction!!
Love that flash fiction. Alex does save the day! :)
Sci-fi flash fiction staring Cavanaugh. Who could ask for anything more? Thanks for your participation! :)
Yay for Alex!
He's definitely a hero to writers!
Love the flash, Cherie. Onward to Scriptus let us flee, for Alex is there with the IWSG!
I love the image I got in my head of the chaos on Scriptus. So very glad Alex was there to save the day though! ;)
Hehehe! Love the flash piece! Alex is quite the superhero today. :)
Hi Cherie,
Firstly, pleased to meet you. And secondly, what a marvellous article in regards to Mr. Cavanaugh and indeed, the lady genius behind it all, his wonderful wife.
In kindness, Gary
Those crazy writers on Scriptus! Good thing they have Alex. :)
Hee hee hee. Great post, Cherie! I like how he responded "You know it!" Reminds me of that line from the stupid surfer movie Blue Crush. ;-)
Awesome post, Cherie! I have to agree, Mrs. Cavanaugh has got to be the best. :D
Agreed; Mrs. C is pretty epic for allowing us time with the Ninja Captain :)
Jamie
I like the post it made me laugh. You have a very light touch.
Great tribute, Cherie! And your FF was fun. Great job.
Hi Cherie. Not sure if we've met before?
Anyway, I loved your answers! Great flash fiction too.
A toast to Mrs. Cavanaugh - she's got to be a very special person!
I notice lots of people saying he reminds them of that sort of nice high school guy. Love it!
Allison (Geek Banter)
Love your new look!! I love what you said to Alex's wife. So, so true!!
Your flash fiction may be just that, flash fiction, but there is a certain truth to it. Bravo for great answers.
I like the description as the cool guy in high school who was actually really nice to everyone. That's our Alex.
Scriptus, love it! And it was great how you worked the IWSG in there to save the day.

You had me from the very first line. Absolutely loved it!
Sweet and simple Cherie, well done!
There are sure a lot of Flash Fiction pieces with allusions to Cosbolt missions! That's quite a tribute to Alex.
Perfect way to incorporate the IWSG!
