Wednesday's Writing Update: Stats and Goals

Happy Wednesday!

I'm sorry I've been slow to respond to comments and get to blogs. We started our summer schedule at the library, so it's taking a while to adjust to the new hours and get everything done.

Because of the A-Z Challenge, I didn't get a chance to post March or April's stats, so here they are...

March Stats:
Word Count - 11,674
Pages Edited - 120

April Stats:
Word Count - 6,506
Pages Edited - 301

It's clear when I edit more I write less and vice versa. I did manage to publish two works in April: A to Z Flashes of Foxwick and Fighting Gravity.

I mentioned it briefly in my IWSG post about focusing my time and using time more wisely, so for May, my main focus is writing and editing Pull of Gravity. I would like to have it ready to publish in June.

I also updated my 2012 Goals list again. I want to give the proper amount of time to things, so I needed to make changes. If I can get things done as I hope, then this should be my writing/editing schedule for the rest of the year.

May - Pull of Gravity, Novelette #3 in the Gravity trilogy
June - Women of Foxwick, Short Story Collection
July - Nightmare Ever After, sequel to Once Upon a December Nightmare
August/September - Starred, editing last year's NaNoWriMo novel
October - 12 Days of Foxwick, a Christmas short story from the Foxwick world
November - Paranormal Junkies, writing my YA Horror novel for NaNoWriMo 2012
December and on - The Phoenix Prophetess, editing my YA Epic Fantasy novel

I still plan to write Men of Foxwick and Neighbors of Foxwick, but it looks like they won't be written until next year. Of course, this schedule is subject to change depending on how long it takes me to write and edit things. I worry the most about June, since I have jury duty. I might not be around enough to write much.

So what are you working on this month? Have you recovered from A-Z Challenge yet? Don't forget to sign up for my Flash Fiction Blogfest here!

You've got a good list of goals there. You can do it! I don't think I've quite recovered from the Challenge yet. I'm still looking for a good picture for the cover of Fearless. I also started my first novella in my new series yesterday.

Boy, I'd better get to Starred if it's going to be edited soon! That looks like a great plan, Cherie! I especially can't wait for the sequel t December Nightmare.

I love how specifically you are keeping track. In fact I think I will start a file in June when I am back to writing.

You may want to rethink 'Pull of Gravity'--my friend Gae released a book with that title last summer that is now winning all sorts of awards--it is being widely used in classrooms and such, so i think you might run into some trouble with using it--people getting confused or else not being able to break out.

You are so organized and professional. It's cool to see your process as you write things down.

Yep, I'm finally catching up with my comments.

I'm also thinking that my goal for Doorways in June will have to be revised, because the edits are taking longer than expected. Still, I'd rather be late than do shoddy edits so...

You amaze me! Seriously, you might be super woman with all of your writing/editing/goal accomplishing.

Good luck with jury duty (and everything else)!

I like how you keep track of your goals. I'm going to try it. I'm doing two projects currently too. One is a write and one is an edit. Looking forward to your future works.

I'm slowly getting back to normal after A-Z, but it sapped a lot of blogging energy outta me. Still, no rest for the wicked!

It's good to have goals and to keep track of them in an organized fashion. I really must try that.

Wow, you have an awesome list of projects going on. I only have a couple, but they seem to consume all of my time. Good luck on your writing this month.

I am just beginning to recover from A-Z, having been "absent" from blogging for a while:) Looks like you have a busy schedule. I'm finishing up first edits on a sequel and then starting a novella.
