Changes in Blogging in 2012

As a new year unfolds, I figured it was time to do some changes to the blog and the blogging schedule. I'm keeping to my five days a week, but I'm changing a few things.

Mondays

That's right. Promo Mondays are no more. Now we have "Book Chat." It's more open than promos, and I hope to have more discussion about books. Of course, all interviews and giveaways will occur during Book Chat too.

Tuesdays

It's time for some fantasy in your life in Fantasy Tuesdays. I mainly write fantasy, so I'll be talking about fantasy. For those that come around for Teaser Tuesdays, don't worry. I'll be doing those on my book reviews blog, Surrounded by Books Reviews.

Wednesdays

Yes, Wednesdays will continue with a writing update. Also, I've joined Alex's awesome Insecure Writer's Support Group, so the first Wednesday of each month will be a post relating to it.

Thursdays

Every 1st and 3rd Thursday as usual. Bring on your editorial questions.

And what's a blog without a personal story here and there? I'll have them every 2nd and 4th Thursdays.

Fridays

And a new year, new flash fiction on Fridays.

So 2012 will bring in the old, the new, and much more. The schedule is subject to change as always. Also, in April 2012, I'll be participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge again, so stay tune to 26 days of flash fiction in April.

Bloggers, do you like to change things up? Keep to a schedule? Or just post whatever, whenever?

I'm playing around with structure in my blog, but nothing's hard and fast. I do however, go to some extremes to make sure that MFB is updated at least five days a week. TCoML is updated MWF, but I'm not as strict with it, as it's my more personal blog and I'm not that worried about SEO. :-D

You sound so organized with your blog. That's great. Maybe I will end up doing the A to Z challenge after all. Must think about it..lol

I just started my blog this year, and it's a work in progress. So far, it hasn't been very structured, but I love to read blogs where there is more structure. As I learn more about what connects with and interests my readers, I may get more organized with it.
PS--Thank you for the words of encouragement on my 2012 Goals post.

That's a tough schedule, I don't think I could keep to something so busy. It looks good though!

That's a nice lineup of things you will be blogging about. I too am an insecure writer.

I think a schedule helps me keep up with the blog, although I'm learning a lot the more I continue with it (having only started it properly in September).

I'm glad you're keeping your Writing Wednesdays and Flash Fiction Fridays :).

I like your changes, especially the Fantasy Tuesdays one. I'm excited about that! :) I like to keep a couple of days with themes as it makes it easier to come up with posts. Yet I leave a few days open in case I have some news or something else pops up.

This looks like a great schedule! I've been wondering if I should schedule mine more, as I'm definitely one of those whatever whenever kind of bloggers. Guess we'll see. But good luck!

And I suddenly have a serious case of blog envy. I wish I was this structured.

I can't wait to check all of this out in the new year.

I like the idea of a topic schedule. I thought about it when I started mine, but couldn't come up with clever titles. Love yours!

I'm most excited for Fantasy Tuesdays! :)

Other than the 'Insecure Writers'once a month, I'm too much of a ditz to keep to a schedule. I do enjoy it when others do. Looking forward to the Fantasy thing on Tuesdays.

I just post whenever. I've thought about adopting a schedule (and maybe I should) but the times I get to blog change pretty often, and I know if I forced myself to write posts they wouldn't be as good as they could be.

Looking forward to reading your posts come 2012! :)

I think it's good to change structure now & then, to keep things 'fresh'. I personally don't have any schedule, and never have. Except for during things like the A-Z and so on. But I've been considering whether or not to just put MYSELF on a schedule, unbeknownst to my blog. haha

Sounds like an awesome lineup! I keep to a schedule, but have a couple of days to fill in with the less categorizeable posts. :)
