Every Sunday night at 9:00 PM for many years, I tuned in to watch the next episode of The X-Files. If I could only watch one television show for the rest of my life, it would be The X-Files. Nothing was better than the relationship between Fox Mulder and Dana Scully as they investigated the strange, weird, and downright creepy.
I have all nine seasons on DVD. I own the two movies. I have several X-Files books. My ring tone is even the X-files theme music.
I even really enjoyed The Lone Gunmen spin-off. I’m still sad when they died.
The reasons I love The X-Files: the mystery, the paranormal, the Smoking Man, the government conspiracies, the Lone Gunmen, Mulder and Scully’s relationship, my crush on Mulder, etc.
The list could go on and on.

I didn't discover X-files until it was off the air. One of these days I need to rent the DVDs from the video store and watch them.
This is truly the BEST SHOW EVER. I don't own them, as I'm not really one for repeat viewing, but it truly is my favorite series that ever ran--for all the reasons you said. (the Smoking Man works in my building)
I was an X-Files fanatic, too. ^_^ I loved the Lone Gunmen, and if they had to die, at least they died heroes. I can't pick a favorite because it was the overall story that I loved best. Though it particularly disturbed me to think of a giant carnivorous fungus that the agents got stuck in one time. I have no idea what that one does that!

I loved the X-Files, but I didn't start watching it until very late in the game. I'm pretty sure I've seen every episode, though.
