I just wanted to put up a quick post before tomorrow's Flash Fiction Fridays.
I finished chapter one of Panther Moon yesterday, and I began writing chapter two. I'm enjoying the novella so far. It's written in third person limited, and the chapters will alternate in the character's view point from Leo's to Portia's. I'm hoping in that the novella will all work out. We'll see.
I'm working on my flash piece for tomorrow and I might go ahead and write next week's flash piece too. I normally just do one flash piece a week, but I'll be taking some vacation time next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Since we have dial-up at home, I'll be setting up August 2nd Flash Fiction Fridays piece in advanced to post on next Friday. We'll see how it works.
Also, don't forget that Monday I'll be interviewing Fantasy Romance author Nicole Zoltack and talking about her Kingdom of Arnhem series. I should have a review of Woman of Honor and Knight of Glory by then, too, since I'm 65% finished with book two, according to my Kindle.

I really enjoy writing in thrid person limited POV. It's actually not limiting for me at all! First person is the POV that I find the most limiting!

Yay for finishing chapter one. Isn't it great how stories just build upon themselves and sometimes even write themselves? At least, that's how it is with me sometimes, panster that I am. :)
So far, all of my published work has been in 3rd limited. Maybe that's why I'm having such a hard time finding an agent for my fantasy YA and assassin paranormal works.
I do typically write in third person limited POV, but I also keep in one person's perspective the entire story or novel. Moonlight Murders and Panther Moon jump from person-to-person having a part in telling the tale from their third-person limited POV. Sometimes I have a hard time hearing if they are really different sounding or end up all the same. It's the problem I had with December Nightmare, which ended up in an almost third person omniscient telling, despite each part being divided by the characters. Confusing, I know. The only first person novel is Virtuoso, and I'm only changing it to first person from third limited because it does work better. *laughs* It's kinda interesting though that I prefer reading third person pov. I actually feel more in the story that way than in first person. I'm not sure why, though, since most people say the opposite.
