A Bitter-Sweet Week

This week has certainly seen its ups and downs. We found a new kitten, and then Persephone died. Despite being sad about Persephone, yesterday did turn out exciting for two reasons.

For one, I received my copy of The Voices of Ire by Aubrie Dionne. Aubrie is one of my best friends, and I just had to purchase her first print book. If you haven't ordered your copy yet, then you should! What are you waiting for? Go. Now!

For two, I received my first print book contributor's copy. I have two magazine contributors' copies, which are great, but this is an actual book. See, I took pictures (with my cell phone in my room...yes, I really need to get a real camera some day).

Me holding my contributor's copy of All About Eve edited by Carol Hightshoe published by WolfSinger Publications.

Is that my name there? I believe so! I think "Hell Hath No Fury" is on page 115.

And, there is me reading the book. It's a good read. Have you bought your copy of All About Eve yet? You haven't? Then, what are you waiting for! Go. Now!

Yes, this may be a bit silly. It's just a short story in an anthology, but I'm still excited. I can't wait to have an actual novel of mine in print. Oh, one day...one day.

As for other writing news, I sent back my second edits to Zetta, wrote part two of a three-part short story on Raven and the Writing Desk, worked a little bit on a new short story, and I wrote an article for work on our Educational Testing Center, which I'm currently located in, proctoring tests. I'm hoping to get a chance to edit another chapter of Virtuoso this weekend, and I'll be critiquing Aubrie's new novel that she just finished writing today. I can't wait to really get into reading it.

Otherwise, I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend!

Thank you so much for putting me up there, Cherie! I was so excited to get my first anthology as well (which just happened this past year after many years of writing) so I know exactly how you feel :)

Have a great weekend!

Really sorry to read about Persephone - but great news about your story in All About Eve. Hope you get lots more good news like that this year.

Of course, I'll put you up there, Aubrie! I'm so excited you have a print book out. *grins*

Helen, thank you! I hope to hear more good news, too, but it is slow coming. Thanks for following!
