#IWSG: Sales / Wattpad Wednesday: Reborn Chapter 12 / Realms Faire

IWSG was created by the awesome Captain Ninja Alex J. Cavanaugh. To visit the other participants, click here.
Sales. It's one thing we're most interested about but usually never hear about when it comes to authors. I must be honest. I wish sales were better, but doesn't everyone? Those months where you sell ten copies or less across all platforms kinda suck and there are way too many of those type of months.

The good thing about self-publishing is I do have a tiny bit of control of sales in the form on pricing. I decide the price. Best of all, I can decide on when to put titles on sale.

For the first time ever, the ebook of Reborn is now $0.99, a savings of $2.00. Purchase at  Amazon / Google Play / iTunes / Kobo / Nook / OmniLit / Smashwords.

And here are two pre-made tweets you can use, if you'd like to tweet the sale:

Reborn by @bookworm0753 #sale #fantasy http://ow.ly/DwS69 #99c http://ow.ly/i/7osfL

You can also get People of Foxwick and Their Neighbors on pre-order for $0.99, a savings of $3.00. Pre-order your copy at Amazon / Google Play / iTunesKobo / Nook / OmniLit / Smashwords.

And here are two pre-made tweets you can use, if you'd like to tweet this sale:

Will lowering the price help sell the book?

So far it is, but I recommend getting some ads to help the sale along. Ereader News Today ran an ad I purchased for Reborn on Monday, and I got some nice results and on some bestseller lists.

By the way, Milo James Fowler hosted me on his blog last week. The topic was Finding Balance, and I have some tips on how I find balance between life, a day job, and being a writer. You can read the post here.

Not sure if Reborn is for you? Then read it on Wattpad. We're up to Chapter Twelve over there, and if you'd like to start from the beginning, click here.

Next week is the Realms Faire. There will be no Book Chat this month, and I'll be posting every day from November 10-14. Get your thinking caps on and read up on mythological creatures. Riddle Me This starts on Monday.

I know if I'm ever a published author, I'll totally fret about sales- I mean, how could you not? Love Foxwick's cover, and I hope the sale goes smashingly!

Will send out a Tweet about the sale for you.
Looking forward to the Realms Faire. I'm jousting this year!

I find lowering the cost of our books helps our sales increase a bit. I wish we didn't have to do this but I guess it's a good way of getting our work out there. And your right, this is one of the advantages of self-publishing. I might put a sale out for my children's book over the next couple of weeks.
I left reviews for Reborn on Goodreads, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble=) Loved your book, Cherie!!

Best of luck with the sales! I tweeted for you and I have to say, thanks for the pre-made tweets. How clever!

I dislike marketing & sales are down. I will definitely tweet for you!

Bad sales were what prompted me to try the Trick or Treat book blog hop. Yeah, I was giving away books, but maybe that will result in sales later. Only time will tell.

Thanks so much for your insights and comments on my blog, Cherie! I needed to hear/read them, especially the part about waiting for the finish of a series.

I sent out two tweets for each book, and I'll try to remember and retweet later too. :)

I hope the sales go up and the writing goes well!!!

Huzzah for Realms Faire!

Cherie, glad to help! Just Tweeted the four Tweets. Good luck with everything.

Just tweeted about the sale. Looks like you've achieved a great ranking! I know exactly what you mean - I always sell more when my publisher drops the price of my books. A pre-order sale is a great idea, too. Good luck! :)

Good luck with your sale! I'm still figuring out how to market myself so I have more than a trickle of sales. At one point I was planning to take advantage of Kindle Select's free days, but was too unsettled by all the negative things i read about giving away free books when you're not established first.

Love these marketing ideas. What a cover--all the red and yellow.

I get quite annoyed regularly by sales. Can't get people to my website. Can't get sales on Google Play. What's a writer to do?

Good luck with the sales Cherie. The sales bit can be a bother for us writers.

I've done a couple of tweets. Hope they help.

As you pointed out, sales could always be better, but still I'm grateful for those that choose to spend their dollars with me.

Here's to lots of pre-orders for People of Foxwick.

Looks like the sale is working. It does take ads to spread the word. I think we have a list of those sites at the IWSG site if you need more.

You know, I've been thinking about picking up Reborn, but never quite got around to doing it. This sale was enough to get my butt in gear and purchase it. Hope your sales kick into high gear!

There's always later for it to take off too. Sales make me sigh lately. It's getting rough out there.

I'm looking forward to the new one! I loved the story you wrote in that setting for Twisted Earths.

It's about as possible not to worry about sales as it is not to worry about negative reviews, ain't it? Sometimes you can be philosophical about 'em, others, you're tearing into the Haagen Dazs with both spoon-wielding fists, amiright? Meh. We move on. Eventually. :-)

Twitted! And great minds think alike, since I've been having the same book price dilemma as you saw from my post :-) It's all an experiment!

*sprints to Amazon* I finally made an account and have been stocking up on all the pretties I've been staring at longingly, yours are next!

I didn't pay attention to Realms Faire last year, but I plan to observe this year. It sounds interesting.

must be nice to be able to price your own stuff just the way you like. and .99?? I'm on that!! you're awesome Cherie!

Lots of authors have mentioned how, after a great September, October sales were BAD! And so far (for me, at least), November isn't looking any better!
But, as you pointed out, it's great that we have the control to do something about it -- like putting our books on sale :-)

We all have those months. In fact selling 10 in a month would be an improvement for me. But if you love what you've written, it's all good. :)

I just tweeted, and I'll check out People of Foxwick.

I hope your sale really helps kick up book sales a notch. And, you're right that being self-published gives you an advantage in that you get to decide on doing sales and the prices. That's so great! Good luck with everything. :)

Good luck with the sale. The collection is fantastic. I can't wait to read it again. :) Ads, hm, yes, maybe I ought to figure those into my budget!
