Wednesday's Writing Update: Writing and Editing as Always

Happy Wednesday!

Is it just me, or are these Wednesdays flying by too quickly?

First, I received a lovely review of Gravity: The Complete Trilogy from Nick Wilford at Scattergun Scribblings yesterday.

Last week I mentioned I finished writing "Blind Scribe" in Men of Foxwick. My first CP read it and got a critique back to me, so I'm making some changes, so I can send it to second CP soon.

On Monday, I finished editing Part I of The Phoenix Prophetess. I've now sent it to my three critique partners, so I'm hoping they'll like it. I'm at the point with Part I where I'm way too close to the story, characters, and writing, so it's hard for me to edit it any more without some additional guidance. Next month, I plan to tackle self-edits on Part II.

My main concerns for the rest of January are writing The Loveless Princess and editing Act I of Starred. I'm a bit behind where I'd hoped to be, but if I can do a chapter/scene a day, then I should be able to finish writing the first thirteen chapters of The Loveless Princess and have Act I of Starred edited by February 1st. We'll see how that goes.

As it is, I know no writing/editing will be done on Saturday, since I'll spend most of the day at the Roanoke Regional Writers Conference and then my sister's eighteenth birthday party Saturday evening. It'll definitely be a busy weekend.

So I guess I should get back to work.

What are you working on this week?

You've been wonderfully productive! Have fun at the conference. I'm working on my revisions this week. I've got two tour posts done. Only 12 more to go! *falls over*

I read Nick's review, and it was indeed awesome! Sounds like you've been getting a LOT of writing done lately, which is also awesome. :-)

Have fun at the conference and party!

You are so productive, it's really inspiring. I finished my editing outline over the weekend, but I probably won't get much writing in during the week. Have fun at the conference--that counts as work, even though it should be fun, too!

i have keeping you in mind this week. I made a list with the things I want to get done (like you) and now I'm struggling to check all items there. You are inspiring. :)

Hooray for lovely reviews!

I don't know how you manage to get done all you do. I don't think I will ever be that efficient. Best of luck with everything...

You are definitely busy!! I'm doing a full read-through of my YA novel, plotting and mapping out book II.

And a Happy Birthday to you sister!

Even if your not exactly where you thought you'd be- you should still be super proud of where you are at the present. You have accomplished so much! Don't be too hard on yourself.

I'm working with an author on her novel for publication for WiDo- and trying to revise my own novel in between And raising puppies. LOL

Wednesdays are definitely flying by too quickly!

As for Nick's review, I remember reading it yesterday and thinking it was fantastic!

And wow, you're certainly busy! Knowing how productive you tend to be, though, I have no doubt that you'll be able to accomplish everything you've set out to achieve by February, even if you do feel behind!

I wish I got half as much writing done as you! I think I might try your part I and II critiquing style. It might help me rewrite less and move forward more.

I love how you juggle so many projects at one! I do the same thing. :) Have a great time at the writer's conference! I haven't been to one in quite a while, but I remember always having fun at them.

I'm continuing to edit my current WIP - hoping to wrap up by the end of Feb.

I'm sort of taking the week off... my ms will be back from the editor by Monday, so I'm enjoying a brief lull... sort of. Currently, I'm mulling over the new version of the new Stopover cover. Do I like it? Does it annoy me? lol Do I want to change anything? Hmm... then I have to find something new to watch on Netflix.

Busy! And the writing conference sounds super fun. :) This week I'm outlining, and surprisingly, I don't want to pull my hair out yet.

Congrats on the nice review! Bet that feels good. Sounds like your weekend is going to be jam-packed. Hope you get a lot of work done before then! ;)

It sounds to me like you are getting a lot done this week! Yeah for you! The writers conference sounds like a ton of fun. :)

I am busy trying to catch up on blog stuff, writing, and lots of books I am hoping to read.

You're super organised! My head always spins when I read about people working on multiple WIPs at once. Wish I was like that!

I was hoping to finish the first draft of my WIP today, but I always slow down a bit at the end. *Nearly* there, hopefully tomorrow. And then I'm working 28 hours at the weekend so no writing will get done. I can't complain, as I only worked 2 hours over the last 2 weekends!

Hi Cherie,

Well done and great progress.

I'm editing a project and it is very hard going at the moment-so need to get back to it!

Congratulations on a very nice review!

As for me, I am valiantly attempting to remain the the B.I.C.H.O.K. position.

You may be a little behind but you've achieved so much already - well done.
I'm still drafting my verse novel while revising and WIP and reading back through the beginning of the verse novel to add in missing bits... just wish I had more time!

It's crazy how fast time flies by. I never seem to have enough time to get everything done. Good luck with the chapters/scenes! I'm sure you'll succeed! :)

This week is unfortunately work-work, as I try to catch up from being gone for five days (who knew that was so long!??!). I hope to get a short story edited and submitted next week. And to finish the battle scene in my Myth Stalker novel.

Good luck with your goals!
