Wednesday's Writing Update: First Draft Highs

Happy Wednesday!

I have good news. On Sunday night, I finished the first draft of Pull of Gravity. It's now with my critique partners, so I'm waiting to hear back from them. If all goes well, I should be ready to publish the third and last novelette in the Gravity trilogy by the end of July/early August.

Also, next Tuesday (instead of Monday's Purrsonal Stories post), a few friends and I are having a special reveal of the new Gravity covers.

While I'm in between projects, I'm slowing down and taking some time off. I have a client's manuscript that has moved up to my #1 priority as well as a friend's manuscript to proofread/format. Then, I'm going to be writing my outlines for Nightmare Ever After and Twelve Days of Foxwick. And I hope to get some more reading done.

I am actually taking a few days off (today, Thursday, and Friday) from the day job too. My sister and I are going to see The Dark Knight Rises at midnight tomorrow, so I'm really excited about that.

And since I'm taking a bit of time off, I've decided not to have a #fridayflash this week. But next week, I'll have a special treat until the end of August with excerpts from Defying Gravity, Fighting Gravity, and Pull of Gravity.

What have you been up to? Are you going to see The Dark Knight Rises?

Good thinking with the break. I can't wait to see TDKR. If I'm lucky I'll see that and Spidey in the same day :)

definitely going to see Dark Knight Rises and my completed first draft is simmering a bit before revisions, which are scheduled to begin in a week. Enjoy your time off!

ps my new wip (in the preliminary stages) arose from the Lightning Flashed blogfest.

I need to catch up with the Gravity books. I'm a little behind on my to be read pile and am working hard at trimming it down.

I'm about to start critiquing! :) I can't wait! You deserve those days off. Enjoy the film and tell me all about it.

P.S. It took me forever to find out how to work a linky list into tomorrow's post. I hope it works!

My god, Cherie. I swear every time I turn around you have MORE good news. Congratulations, again :)

I'm not sure if I'm gonna see Batman. They've been so dark lately, and I don't know if I'm in the mood for that.

Great news, Cherie! It's so very hard to actually get to a benchmark. I've got so many to-do's the list just keeps going. It's a wonderful feeling to cross something off.

That is good news. I always feel relieved when I get to that point of being beta read. There's still work ahead of me, but I feel like I'm in good hands with my CP's.

I hope you're enjoying your time off.
