Wednesday's Writing Update: Post-Release Date

Happy Wednesday!

Yesterday was the official release date for Women of Foxwick. I'm very proud of this short story collection, but it was probably the most difficult to get together for publication. Of course, having jury duty and being on the summer schedule (i.e. less sleep) didn't help matters. I spent twelve hours on Sunday editing/proofreading the last three stories and formatting the collection for publication.
So I'm tired.

Now my focus is shifting from epic fantasy back to space fantasy as I write Pull of Gravity, book three of the Gravity trilogy. I have my outline on hand, and my goal is to have a first draft written by July 2nd. I do not have a release date yet, but my cover artist and I are working on finalizing the cover. Of course, she can't finalize it completely until she reads the story. (And if you follow my newsletter, you would've heard some exciting news about the Gravity trilogy covers. *hinthint*)

So, I'm writing and slowly catching up on blogs as well as writing new blog posts for July.

What are you up to lately? And can you believe the year is almost half-over?

Yay! I hope you sold a lot on release day! Because the year is half over, I had to assess what I've written so far, and what I still have to write to make my goal: yikes! Scary.

I can't believe year is almost half-over. I don't have nearly as much written or revised as I wanted. Good luck catching up and with writing PoG!

Congrats on the publication and good luck with your new book! I'm in the same place: my novella St. Peter in Chains just came out as an e-book and now I'm trying to finish my paranormal romance novel The K-Pro; I've given myself 'til the end of July to finish the draft.

Nope, I can't believe that the year's halfway over.

I've got the second Gravity book on my Kindle CloudReader. Gotta get to that soonish.

Gah! Don't remind me how fast the year is slipping by. hehe
It sounds like you are getting a lot done despite everything. I remember when I had jury duty, I didn't get much done at all.

Congrats on your book launch! (sorry, I'm a bit slow getting around) I love short stories because well, their short. (: But I also have a thing for space fantasy so your Gravity trilogy is definitely getting on my to read list. And good luck finishing up the third in the series, that's so awesome. Wish I could finish just one darn book! lol!
