Eirwyn's Evil #atozchallenge

For the A to Z Challenge, I'm having twenty-six flash fiction pieces from my Foxwick Kingdom and its surrounding neighbors. Soon A to Z Flashes of Foxwick will be available in e-book format. You can add this to your Goodreads list here.

Eirwyn’s Evil

Eirwyn clasped Javen’s cloak. Wisps of her blue hair blew across her face, but she didn’t move them away. She wasn’t about to let him leave. “Please, give me a chance. I could make you very happy.”
“Happy?” Javen jerked his cloak from her grasp, and she stumbled forward. “You just want my kingdom.”
She did. Well, she had until she fell in love with him. Why hadn’t her love spell worked over him as well? Without his cloak to hold—or him—she wrung her hands. “Please. Wintermill and Foxwick could join together. Our kingdoms could stand against our neighbors.”
“But there’ll be no peace, if you have your way.” He grabbed her arms, and his heat scorched her fair skin. “I don’t trust you. More so, I don’t love you.”
She placed her hand against his chest. His heart thumbed against her palm. How could he not love her? Hadn’t she done everything she could to please him? If she could melt into his embrace once more, she could save both their kingdoms from heartache. But his heart held no love for the princess of Wintermill. She’d failed her family, her kingdom, herself.
Her gaze hardened like ice, and the frozen burn seeped through her body and settled into her heart. “You will marry me.”
“I won’t.” His arms dropped to his sides. “Return to Wintermill. You’re not welcome here.”
Anger seized her to the point she shook with it. How dare he dismiss her like a commoner? Why should she love him, if he would treat her like dragon droppings? With her hand still over his heart, she intoned, “Heart beats, heat warms, but you shall freeze, Prince Javen, until love’s embrace overcomes you. Until you are mine.”
A grimace cracked through his handsome face. He clutched at her hands until he collapsed to his knees. “What have you—”
“A magical tune might save you, my dear prince, but I might not.” She leaned closer. “You belong to me.”
Shouts erupted behind her, and she swirled around to find King Felix and his guards. She had to leave Foxwick, for now.
“Stop her,” the king shouted.
“You have three days, King Felix. I will return for him and my kingdom.” In a puff of icy mist, she vanished.

Love the names and you know, the drama.

Oh, what a sad story. I could sense in her the wish for him to love him and how he didn't want it.

Aww, my heart ached for her. Like that she got so determined with him afterwards. Love a strong female. :D

ooh, interesting. 3days isn't much time to save someone from a curse.

Your writing is so emotionally charged. I guess that dragon droppings are not good, eh? They don't sound good. If this is part of a greater body of work, you've got a real winner here. The subtle insertion in the dialog of world-building immediately gave me a sense of a large realm and I already know there are dragons around enough for people to complain about the poop!

Good idea for a theme, and it forces you to be productive. I'm trying to visit all the A-Z Challenge Blogs this month.
