Wednesday's Writing Update: What I'll Be Doing in April

Happy Wednesday!

On Surrounded by Books Reviews, I have my review of Hooked by Les Edgerton. If you're a writer and haven't read Hooked yet, then I strongly suggest you get a copy. It's brilliant.

I also saw The Hunger Games movie on opening night last week. It was awesome! I thought it represented the books well, the sets and costumes were superb, and the acting was fantastic. The thing that interested me the most was the dynamic of who came to watch the movie: teens, males and females. When I went to see the Harry Potter films, all different types of people watched them. When I saw the first Twilight movie, it was mostly girls and women of various ages. It'll be interesting to see if the teen trend continues with the other two movies in The Hunger Games series.

Since this is the last Wednesday in March, I thought I should remind you Wednesday's Writing Update will be on hiatus until May because of the A to Z Challenge. If you want to keep updated on my writing news, then I suggest you either "like" my Facebook Author Page, follow me on Twitter, or subscribe to my newsletter (links to all on the left column of this blog).

My A to Z theme this year is Flashes of Foxwick. Yes, 26 days of fantasy flash fiction. I also plan to self-publish this collection, which will include the bonus short story "Lady Death." The collection will be available sometime in April. If you sign up for the newsletter, you'll get an exact date as well as a sample of "Lady Death."

In April, I will be editing Fighting Gravity, which will be available on May 1st. Christine Rains gave me my first review of Fighting Gravity here. I hope to get some blog posts done for May. I also hope to finish writing Pull of Gravity (the final book in the Gravity trilogy) and write two more short stories for Women of Foxwick ("Lady Bard" and "Magic Seeker"). It'll be a busy month but a fun one.

What have you been up to? Do you plan to participate in the A to Z Challenge? If so, do you have a theme?

I haven't decided if I'm joining the A-Z yet but it's tempting! Can't wait to see the Hunger Games.

A busy month for sure! I can't wait to read all of the FoF, and to visit blogs in the Challenge. My theme is one paranormal romance story stretching over the entire month. I'm excited and nervous about it.

I was among the first 100 to sign up for A-Z but dropped out for health reasons.
A bit in awe of you after checking your current and past projects. I will watch the Foxwick flash crowd whenever I can. :)

I'm not going to try to do A-Z this year, not with a newborn! But I do plan on returning to blogging (at least) three times a week next month.

Wow, that does sound like a busy month! I have to get those edits back to you. I'm working on it!

Totally busy girl! But it keeps us going. Good luck with all your endeavors.

Good point on The Hunger Games movie. I saw so many men and women, even kids, there. Although the book is from a girl's POV it still appeals to boys and men alike. Nice!

Yay A-Z Challenge! It's going to be tough for me to keep up throughout the entire month of April, but I figured if I was going to write posts, I better do it about my characters of something that involves them.

April is my busiest month for school. :/ It's cause we only have two months in May that we attend, and that's dead week and finals week! But I'm excited!!

I've got half of my A to Z stuff planned out now. I feel more comfortable knowing that I won't be panicked and stressed over time.

That's a great theme! Damy did that last year and put together a great book afterwards.

Not doing the A-z, but will be popping to various sites during April as time permits. I'm in the middle of some revisions and there are tons of work to be done on the Ranch this time of the year. Spare time? What's that?
Haven't seen Hunger Games yet, but intend to.
