And the finalists of the Flash Fiction Blogfest are...

First off, I'd like to thank everyone who entered the Flash Fiction Blogfest. No one made my job easy picking six finalists. Twenty-five people added their names to the linky. Seventeen people, not including myself, participated in the blogfest by having a flash fiction piece 500 words or less up on Friday, May 6th. I tried to read the entries as blind as possible by blacking out everyone's names, focusing on the piece at hand, and writing notes. From there, I put the blackened out names in order and revealed who were my top six. I was completely shocked to find some people wrote a certain piece. Others, I had an inkling who wrote it. They were all wonderful, and I'll be jumping to everyone's blogs today and added my comments.

Now here is how this next portion will work. On the right hand side at the top of this blog, you can vote for your favorite piece. I have the authors' names. Voting will begin now and go until Friday, May 13th at 8:00 AM EST. I will then announce the winners on Friday, along with a possible honorable mention and a special prize drawn randomly, so even if you aren't in the top three, you might have a chance to win.

Here are the six finalists in no particular order:
Sonia's flash fiction
Christine Rains
J.C. Martin, Fighter Writer
Janel Gradowski
Lisa Potts
Bill Blume

Thank you again. Please take a moment to read these and everyone else's pieces and please, please vote.

Cherie, thanks so much! This was a real treat, and I'm flattered I got into the finalists.

I loved getting to read the variety of stories that everyone posted. Such cool stuff!

Thanks so much for shortlisting my little story! I don't know how you managed to choose six from all the great entries.
