Welcome, Crusaders and other lovely friends! Today, I will reveal the lie from yesterday's post. If you missed it, you can read it here.
"A Lie Revealed"
"For the love of all that's holy, let Britney Spears be the lie," shouted one crusader.
"Yes, it has to be Britney Spears," another answered.
"Britney Spears," several more agreed.
The masked man looked at me, but I shook my head. "No, I'm sorry. It's horribly true, but I don't own any of her music," I said, as if it made my shameful secret any better.
"Oh," the crusaders groaned.
"What's the lie?" My captor nudged me with the dagger.
"Maybe it's her sign?" The voice was small, uncertain.
"No, my Chinese zodiac sign is the dog," I said.
"Figure out the lie or else."
I gulped and begged my fellow crusaders to find the lie. It was such a simple little word. One untruth.
"She's a dog person," said a crusader.
"No, she's not. Look at the cats on her blog." Another crusader commented.
"Oh, I know! You never sang at Disney World and Central Park." That crusader gave a smug smile.
"I did, but you're close," I answered.
The suggestions decreased.
I did twitch when I stressed out and felt I was often not heard so repeated myself. In fact, I twitched now, despite trying to remain calm. Sweat beaded around my hair. I was nervous, scared even. They would never guess the cleverly disguised lie. "If I tell you, will you let me go?"
"Yes," the masked man said.
"Release the chains first." I had to insist. I didn't know if he would keep his word.
He unlocked them, and I rubbed my raw wrists. "The truth," he said with the blade pointed at me.
I gulped. "I lied when I said the choir I was in flew to Florida and New York. We took a bus. I've actually never been on an airplane before."
Without warning, I kicked out, striking his arm with the knife. It clattered and skidded on the ground, coming to a stop at the wall. My foot struck him in the knee, and I heard a cracking sound, and he screamed and collapsed to the ground. "Oh, did I forget to mention I played soccer for nine years too?"
I ran for safety, followed by fellow crusaders. They couldn't keep us down.
Most people guessed Britney Spears. Do you really think I'd be that obvious, although I do wish that was the lie. *sighs* So ashamed.

I'm still getting around to make my first comments on everyone's blogs and checking out their challenge entries.
I loved your flash fiction entry and the culmination of the story today. Awesome work.
Loved reading your challenge and reveal!
LadyJai - Thank you!
Probably no more ashamed than I am to admit I like Abba!
Yep, thoroughly enjoyed this! Don't worry, I find some of Brittany's music catchy too;)
Amanda - Thank you! And her music is catchy. *sighs*
Hit Me Baby One More Time is undeniably catchy, I won't fight you on that one. ;) I've flown once when I was three, but I still say I've never flown because I don't remember it. I think it's weird that when someone takes a step, the whole plane doesn't get pushed out of the air. . . And I hope you win the contest, your entry was too awesome! :D
Great reveal. I like the way you did your post.
Me too! Very clever.
New follower and fellow crusader - nice to meet you!
Alison - Hi! Thank you! It's nice to meet you too.
