Decisions, Decisions

Looking at the calendar, I realized that in two weeks from Thursday I'll be at the James River Writers Conference. I feel like I have so much I need to get done from now until then. One of those things is business cards. I want to have some cards to hand out to people. I tried making my own on the computer, and they aren't the best. I'd rather have something nicer, so I've been looking at Vistaprint. They have some great card designs, and the prices aren't too bad. Plus, I can get them in around three days, which is good. I just don't know which one to pick.

I want something writer-like, but I also want something that conveys who I am as a writer. I'm also debating to add something about Surrounded by Books and/or my Surrounded by Books review blog to the cards. Here are my choices I'm leaning towards:

Choice #1

This first choice is simple. It's some books. You think writer or reader when you see it. I would definitely add something about my Surrounded by Books to this card, since it fits my theme of my blogs and website.

Choice #2

This one I found to be elegant. Purple is my favorite color, and I think it adds a bit of mystery.
Choice #3

I found this choice to convey most what I write, which is horror, mystery, and fantasy.
Choice #4

Of course, the outdated typewriter. The only reason I considered this one was because it reminded me of Stephen King's The Shining and Misery. I just want to type "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."

So, here is where I need some help. What do you think would make a good business card for a writer at a writing convention? I'm rather torn about it, so I would love some advice.

Thanks!!

Pick number 3. It best reflects you as a writer and that's the whole point of a business card. It's branding yourself as a writer. And I love VistaPrint. I get stuff from their all the time. So yeah, #3 gets my vote. The skull is too awesome.

Thanks, Nicole! I must admit I am really fond on #3.

Cherie,

I'll have to say I'm having a horrible time choosing here. The design should be important but the information on the card more so.

I'm wondering if you would need the same contact information that you would send on a submission. (address and phone number).

Okay, I think 2 would have to be my choice. Elegant works nicely to put the attention on the information rather than pulling away from it.

Good luck in your final decision.

Hi Cher! Thanks for picking one. I do like the purple one. It really is a hard choice between simple or creative or funky or elegant. *laughs* And, I probably will put my address and phone number on it, but I didn't want to show that on these cards. I can't make it too easy for the stalkers. *winks* It's still hard to chose. I'm going to give it a bit of time (a few days) before I make my final decision and order them.

I like the Skull one. It's awesome.

Thanks, Lisa. The skull one is still perhaps my favorite. It's so hard to decide!

Nr. 2 caught my eye first. It also feels like "you". Classic, elegant, and mysterious.
