Ebook Review: JESTER'S FOLLY by Aubrie Dionne

Title: Jester's Folly
Series: Carnival of Illusions
Author: Aubrie Dionne
Publisher: Gypsy Shadow Publishing (June 2010)

Blurb from Website: As the most imaginative jester in the Masquerade Carnival, Mina has hidden her true identity for years. No one has seen her without her makeup, and so no one recognizes her from the media frenzy in her past. Her perfect façade is shattered one night when she fails to make a young man laugh during a show. He knows too much about her and is on to her charade. Will Mina be able to hide from her past forever?

Review: Aubrie Dionne's Jester's Folly tells the story of emotionally and physically scarred Mina. Despite her ability to produce laughs and smiles in almost everyone, she is not laughing. Mina is a scared and sad clown, and she desperately tries to hide from her past and an accident that ruined two lives, hers and her friend's life when her friend died. The story is filled with hope, though. In the end, Mina finds possible love and receives a clean start. The makeup has come off, and she is forgiven and free to be who she is without the façade. Jester's Folly is a lovely story that teaches us to remove our masks and be ourselves. I look forward to reading what else is in store for the Carnival of Illusions series.
