Promo Monday: C is for Crichton

Michael Crichton
October 23, 1942 – November 4, 2008

Michael Crichton will forever remain one of my favorite authors of all time. I’ve read almost all of his books, some more than once. Michael Crichton taught me the value of research. When I read one of his books, I believe it could happen. Dinosaurs are alive, and if you want to travel to a parallel universe, you can.

I also remember the day Michael Crichton died. It was one of those deaths that you remember exactly what you were doing at the time. I was playing ping pong with my sister. We had the downstairs TV on to the CBS evening news. When I heard the news, I felt like I had been punched in the stomach. My entire body went numb. No more fantastic stories. No more to believe in. It’s how it felt. I still get teary-eyed when I think of him and what his books meant to me.

So today I’d like to mention his books.
