IWSG was created by the Captain Ninja Alex J. Cavanaugh. To visit the IWSG participants, please click here. There is a big announcement today, so be sure to check out the IWSG site. The co-hosts for September are Heather M. Gardner, Christine Rains, Dolorah at Book Lover, Julie Flanders, and Murees Dupé.Yes, it's a rare, rare occurrence, but I just don't feel insecure today. Not even the flat line of sales make me that insecure. Why? Because I've been writing, and it's just an amazing feeling to be back into creating new worlds and characters and plots and all. Since July 1, I've written every single day, which is something I haven't managed before.
On August 30, I finished the first draft of Marked (The Fate Challenges #1.5), which came in at 26,095 words (51 single-spaced pages). I'm letting it sit for a month or so before I edit and send it to my first critique partner, so I'm sure my insecurities will come back by then. *laughs* I started writing Forged (The Fate Challenges #2) on August 31. I have three chapters left to write in The Mission (The Gaia Project #1.1), which is actually going pretty well since I started the short novella with just an idea and a vague sense of scenes and characters. Of course, it'll need major plotting for the second draft and subsequent stories, but I'm having fun just seeing where things go.
Plus, I got a big boost in confidence when Reborn received a five star review at Readers' Favorite. It took over a year for a reviewer to take a chance on Reborn, and I'm relieved the reviewer loved it. You even get a lovely medal to put on websites or print it out.
I used to worry about using up creativity, but lately I found this quote to be very true. |
Read Reborn from the beginning or Chapter Thirty-Two.
Welcome to the kickoff for September's giveaway. All of the books are fab and the authors are amazing. Seriously you don't want to miss out. Here's the link to enter the Rafflecopter giveaway. And here are the books.

Congratulations on five stars! Hey, not all books hit it big in the beginning. Some are a slow build.
Awesome amount of words you wrote last month.
Congrats on the five stars. Very happy for you that your writing is going great. I have read a few pages of Reborn on my Kindle and I am loving it.
So wonderful you finished up Marked! And I love that you're not feeling insecure at the moment. Thanks for sharing that truth with me this morning. I needed it. :)
We're both making good progress on our writing.
Woo-hoo! You're doing awesome. Those few minutes really do add up. My insecurities are just nerves. You already know. ;)
Woot, woot! Yay for the award. Love your forward motion and hoping to ride your tailwind.
You rock! Just remember how you feel today whenever another obstacle rears its ugly head. Keep it up!
Congratulations on the 5 stars! Sounds like you're quite secure!
Writing is the cheapest therapy there is. It can get me through the rough spots of life and encourage me to get out of bed in the morning. It's magical and I feel lucky I can put one word down after another.

Congrats on the award. And awesome how much you have been writing. It must feel really good to get back into it.
Congrats on the five stars and it's awesome that you're getting so much writing done! I wish I could be writing every day.
Love those five stars! They float you to the moon. You have no reason to feel Insecure today and for that you get even more stars.
Congratulations on the review, Cherie. I'm sure that made your day. I now understand why you're not feeling insecure today.
Good for you, that's great to hear!!!
Congrats on the 5 stars! That would certainly boost spirits.
Congrats on your award and all that writing, goodness! I'm super jealous that I haven't been able to write like that! :)

Congrats on the 5 star review and so much writing progress! It always feels good to get into that kind of groove. Hope things continue to go well!
Good to hear you're feeling pumped!! Now, if you read my blog today, I'm not talking about you. You're allowed to feel like the shiz sometimes, just not ALL the time. I just wanted to clarify. I'm talking about people who think they're the most awesome every day of their lives.
Congrats on the new blog look (new to me anyway) and on not being insecure this month and on getting so much writing accomplished! Wow!
Yay for not feeling insecure!! So glad you're enjoying your writing so much. Congratulations on that review!!
That is a truly impressive number. And great job on the five stars! Its great to hear that not only are you making great headway on your projects, you are having fun in the process.
Yay on insecurity free. Look at edits at a way to make your rough gem shine. That's how I see it these days. It's an opportunity to learn. :)
Congrats on the awesome review! I loved Reborn.
5 stars! Woop! So happy for you that you are in such a good place writing-wise. Awesome that you have been writing every day. Inspirational! :)

Woo Hoo! Way to go, Cherie!! That is excellent....
You know, you are so right. When we are deep into create mode we can forget the lack of monetary reward and concentrate on doing what we want and need to do.
Yay on the medal and all the writing you've been doing. Those are great prizes.
It's lovely when IWSG rolls around and you can say you're not feeling insecure. We really need to celebrate that because it can be a rare occurrence.
I'll have to look into what this Reader's Favorite thing is. Sounds pretty cool! Congrats on getting highest marks from them. ;)
Writing regularly is fun and helps to actually get rid of writer anxiety, even if that seems illogical. It works if you keep it up. Although, waiting for incoming critiques probably ruins all of that, sadly. At least the writing itself is fun!
Congratulations on five stars! Awesome news!
Good for you, Cherie. I haven't been writing and I really miss it. I've just been outlining, which isn't quite the same thing. I think I'll feel more into it once Fall gets here :)
WTG! Five stars and no insecurities this month! That's wonderful. I'm full of them. :(
What a fantastic feeling - well done Cherie!! Keep those self-doubt gremlins at bay. Congratulations for all your achievements - and a big thumbs up for your 5 star rating. Makes it all worth while. Have a fantastic weekend.
Congratulations on the five stars! I'm pleased the writing is going so well. I definitely think that having too much time to think breeds insecurities for writers. The tighter my schedule, the better I write.
Oh, congrats on the lack of insecurities! That's such a rare occurrence, for sure. Congrats on all the writing, as well! I can just imagine how big of a help it's been for you to stick to that everyday. (I've made myself draw everyday for at least a couple years now. Probably would've quit art by now otherwise!)
Way to go, Cherie! Writing every day makes us better, stronger, more confident writers. I'll get back there soon -- after I finish these stinkin' edits.
Congratulations on five stars! Wonderful you finished your project!
