Wednesday's Writing Update: A Wickedly Good Time

Happy Wednesday!

I'm on my way to Richmond for the James River Writers Conference. I'm even going to see Wicked tonight. I'm so excited. I haven't gone to a musical in quite a few years. The last one I saw was Les Miserables. Of course, my favorite musical to date—unless it changes tonight—is The Phantom of the Opera.

I have September's stats too.
Submissions: 0
Acceptances: 0
Rejections: 0
Total Word Count: 3915
Pages Edited: 573

Yeah, my word counts sucked last month. Even the pages edited should've been higher, if I'd edited everything I should have. *sighs*

This month I plan to start and finish up a third edit of The Phoenix Prophetess, edit The Best of Raven and the Writing Desk, write two and a half short stories, and get ready for NaNoWriMo 2011. Oh, and I have this little conference I'm heading to, so nothing much will get done in the next few days. Some of these things probably won't happen. It all depends on time and how much work I have at the full-time job. I'm really looking forward to writing in November. Perhaps even two novels. Yeah, insane, I know, but I'll plan for two and then see how it goes.

Have you seen a musical before? If so, which one(s)? Been to a writer's conference?

Two novels in November? You ARE ambitious. Good luck with your edits.

Two novels is crazy! Although one year I rewrote my YA fantasy and managed 80k that month, but that was cheating. I'm hoping to write two novels before the end of the year - a MG fantasy (medieval) and a YA urban fantasy.

You're going to have a great Wednesday! WICKED is awesome, I think you'll enjoy it.

The last musical I saw was Les Mis, on my birthday in August. I had never seen it before, and I was blown away. The music gave me goosebumps.

My all-time favorite musical is Miss Saigon. I wish they'd bring it back, I would totally go see it again.

Hope you enjoy "Wicked", and that the conference goes well.

Two novels for NaNo! Wow! And I can't even fit in one. Good luck with them, and also with your edits for The Phoenix Prophetess.

I've attended more musicals than writing conferences. But I started with the musicals earlier in life.
My favorite venue for a musical was Las Vegas (for Phantom of the Opera.) My favorite conference was in Maui a few years back (before it moved to Honolulu.)

I hope you're having a great time! :) I've been to a few musicals: Wicked, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. All of them were fantastic.
