Wednesday's Writing Update: Award, Editing, and More!

Happy Wednesday!

I reviewed G.L. Breedon's The Wizard of Time on Surrounded by Books Reviews today.

I just realized yesterday that Once Upon a December Nightmare is now available on Amazon France

Alice Audrey recently awarded me the Liebster Blog award. Thank you, Alice! I met Alice during Teaser Tuesdays.

Look to your left (click F5 if you can't see the Followers list). I'm up to 351 followers! I am amazed. Simply shocked. If I'm not following you back, please let me know in the comments with your blog link so I can follow.

This week I'm trying to get back in the habit of editing and writing. I've fallen out of it earlier this month and I need the habit before we get to November and NaNoWriMo (more of that next week's post).

What I'm editing? The Phoenix Prophetess and The Best of Raven and the Writing Desk. For The Phoenix Prophetess, I'm trying to do two chapters a day (one third edit chapter and one second edit chapter). I would like to have the second edit complete before November and a good portion of the third edit done by then. I hope to have it all polished up in December/January. *crosses fingers* For The Best of Raven and the Writing Desk, I need to get on that.

What I'm writing? The Foxwick Chronicles: Women of Foxwick. This is a fantasy short story collection (5 short stories, about 20,000 words total) I'm working on and considering self-publishing. Two and a half short stories are written, and I would like to finish the other two and a half before the end of October.

If I have time, I am toying with the idea of writing a novella out of an old short story "Cassandra Project," now titled Confessions of a Telekinetic. I'm not sure if I'll have the time, but I'm seeing where it takes me before November.

Of course, I'm trying to get as much done before November because November is about writing and NaNoWriMo.

Are you planning to participate in NaNoWriMo? What are you working on?

Wow, you sound busy! I'm toying with Nano but I'm not sure which of two stories I would work on - whichever one i think of an ending for first, probably :-)

Great writing plan! You always have a good way of setting goals that we can all follow for ourselves!

Thank you for editing Raven and the Writing Desk! I can't wait to get that book out.

The Cassandra project is very good and would make an excellent novella. Did you see Entangled is looking for novellas now. I think they'd like it.

As for NaNoWriMo, this whole year is NaNoWriMo for me, so I'll keep up the fast pace and try to get my third book done by the deadline.

I think you should do it, though!

But I am working on a fantasy series. I am really excited about it!

Congratulations on your award, definitely well deserved! And on your follower count, that's fantastic.

I admire how organized you are about your writing projects, I need to take a page from your book!

Good luck with nanowrimo, I'm not participating but look forward to cheering others on. :)

Congratulations on your award and all those followers. That's fabulous! You're doing a lot but I know how organized you are. :) I can't wait for NaNo to start. I've done all my critiquing, so now I need to do some ALH revising and outlining for NaNo.

Congrats on your 351 followers, woo! And it sounds like you're making great progress on your editing. Good luck with the rest! Nah, I don't "do" NaNo. I have my own way of writing, and I don't like having a set word count each day. For me, that's not the only way to make progress on a novel. :)

Congratulations on the followers! :)

Good luck with your editing.

I'm planning to do NaNoWriMo--but before I start thinking about that idea in earnest (I don't like working on two writing projects at once) I have to finish the novel I'm writing now, which I think I might be able to finish by tomorrow, if I push hard . . .

Your short story collection sounds like so much fun! I am NOT going to be doing NaNoWriMo this year, :( but I'm so excited for everyone that is!

Congratulations on your 351 followers!

I'm (still!) working (very slowly) on my rewrites for "Racing the Dark". Maybe I'll have them finished by the year 3000 ;). I just need more hours in the day... or perhaps a neighbour that doesn't have a dog that barks at 2am and wakes me up, so I don't get enough sleep, and end up too tired to write.
