Q is for ... Quests in Fantasy Fiction
Quests and fantasy go hand in hand and Foxwick is no exception. I’ve showcased various quests in the flash fiction piece “Quaylin’s Quest” from A to Z Flashes of Foxwick as well as the short story “Mage Game” from Women of Foxwick. Another quest comes along in “Monster Hunter” from the forthcoming Men of Foxwick.
What’s your favorite quest in fantasy fiction?
Oh, quests are the BEST in fantasy or any kind of spec fic. I love it when a hero and his/her buddies go off on a quest! :-)
ReplyDeleteWouldn't be epic fantasy without a quest.
ReplyDeleteI don't really care what the quest is, or even if it's been done before. It just has to be done well and have something unique about it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get well real soon.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite quest is still the ring quest. :)
We chose the same word. Get well soon
ReplyDeleteThe Harry Potter series is my favorite quest! What an adventure! The Hobbit was a fun quest, too :)
ReplyDeleteI second the vote for Harry Potter! :) Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteQuests are fun and Harry Potter is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind quests but I kind of like George R.R. Martin's style of doing things sans quest.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking at my books and I think the only ones I have are Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Both epic quests.
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend and I dragged my 9yr old son on a "quest" to walk some of the Santiago De Compostela trail in Europe after watching all the Lord of the Rings movies. Quests are awesome in fiction. In reality, painful, wet and hungry about sums it up.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a sucker for epic quests.
ReplyDeleteDid you really just blame your Dad?!?! :)
ReplyDeleteI too am a sucker for quests. Hope you get rid of the cold soon.
ReplyDeleteTo quest or not to quest that is the quest ion
ReplyDeleteGood for fantasy and A to Z
